Hadith: Allah tries his servants so He can hear them praising Him

• «قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يَقُولُ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ «انْطَلِقُوا إِلَى عَبْدِي فَصُبُّوا عَلَيْهِ الْبَلَاءَ صَبًّا) فَيَأْتُونَهُ فَيَصُبُّونَ عَلَيْهِ الْبَلَاءَ، فَيَحْمَدُ اللهَ فَيَرْجِعُونَ فَيَقُولُونَ: يَا رَبَّنَا صَبَبْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْبَلَاءَ صَبًّا كَمَا أَمَرْتَنَا، فَيَقُولُ: (ارْجِعُوا فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَسْمَعَ صَوْتَهُ۔)»» (الطبراني ٧٦٩٧ ضعيف)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Allah SWT says to the angels: "Go to My servant and pour trials upon him abundantly." They thus go to him and pour trials upon him, and he remains praising Allah. They return to Allah and say: Our Lord, we poured trials on him abundantly as You commanded us. He says, "Return to him, for I love to hear his voice."

Invoke Tawhid

• ﴿بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۝ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ۝ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ۝ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ۝ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ۝ اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ۝ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ الفَاتِحَة ١:١)

1:1 In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. 2 ˹All˺ praise is ˹due˺ to Allah, Lord of the worlds - 3 The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, 4 Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. 5 It is You we worship and You we ask for help. 6 Guide us to the straight path - 7 The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked ˹Your˺ anger or of those who are astray.

• «اللَّهُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي لاَ أُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا» أبو داود 1525

Allah , Allah is my Lord, I do not associate anything as partner with Him.

• «لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الأَرْضِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ» مسلم 2730a

There is no god worthy of worship other than Allah, the Magnificent, the Forbearing. There is no god worthy of worship other than Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. There is no god worthy of worship other than Allah, the Lord of the skies, the Lord of the earth, and the Lord of the Generous Throne.

• ﷽ ﴿اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ البَقَرَة ٢:٢٥٥)

2:255 Allah, there is no god worthy of worship other than Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of ˹all˺ existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is ˹presently˺ before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the skies and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Seek Forgiveness and Repentance

• ﴿لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ الأنبيَاء ٢١:٨٧)

21:87 … There is no god worthy of worship other than You; You are Exalted and indeed I have been of the wrongdoers.

• ﴿رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ الأعرَاف ٧:٢٣)

7:23 … Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.

• «أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ» (أبو داود ١٥١٧ صحيح)

I seek forgiveness from Allah, there is no god worthy of worship other than Him, the Living, the Eternal, and I turn to Him in repentance.

• «اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ؛
  أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ؛ أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَىَّ، وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي؛ فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ» (البخاري ٦٣٠٦ صحيح)

O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no god worthy of worship other than You. You created me, and I am Your servant, and I am on Your covenant and Your promise to the best of my ability. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done, and I acknowledge Your favors upon me, and I confess my sins. So forgive me, for surely, there is none who forgives sins except You.

• «اللهُمَّ إنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي ظُلْمًا كَثِيرًا، ولا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إلّا أنْتَ، فاغْفِرْ لِي مَغْفِرَةً مِن عِنْدِكَ، وارْحَمْنِي، إنَّكَ أنْتَ الغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ» (أحمد ٨ صحيح)

O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly and no one forgives sins except you. Grant me forgiveness from you and have mercy on me for you are the Oft Forgiving Most Merciful."

Make Duas for Relief

• «حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ» (أبو داود ٣٦٢٧ ضعيف)

Allah is sufficient for me, for He is the Best Dispenser of Affairs…

• ﴿نِعْمَ الْمَوْلَىٰ وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيرُ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ الأنفَال ٨:٤٠)

8:40 … an Excellent Protector, and Excellent is the Helper.

• ﴿رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ القَصَص ٢٨:٢٤)

28:24 ... My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in dire need.

• رَبِّ ﴿أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ الأنبيَاء ٢١:٨٣)

My Lord, 21:83 that indeed harm has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful."

• «إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ، اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَأَخْلِفْ لِي خَيْرًا مِنْهَا» مسلم 918b

We belong to Allah and to Him shall we return; O Allah, reward me for my affliction and give me something better than it in exchange for it.

• «اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ» (النسائي ١٣٣٧ صحيح)

O Allah, You are al-Salam and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Glory and Honor."

• «يَا حَىُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ» الترمذي 3524

O Living, O Self-Sustaining Sustainer! Only through Your Mercy do I seek relief.

• «اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو فَلاَ تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ» أبو داود 5090

O Allah! I continue to hope for your Mercy. Do not abandon me to myself even for an instant, and set all my affairs in good order for me. There is no god worthy of worship other than You.

• «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ» (البخاري ١٣٧٧ متفق عليه)

O Allah! I seek refuge with you from the punishment in the grave and from the punishment in the Hellfire and from the trials of life and death, and the afflictions of the Dajjal (false Messiah)."

• «اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كُلُّهُ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ قَابِضَ لِمَا بَسَطْتَ وَلاَ مُقَرِّبَ لِمَا بَاعَدْتَ وَلاَ مُبَاعِدَ لِمَا قَرَّبْتَ وَلاَ مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلاَ مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ
  اللَّهُمَّ ابْسُطْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ بَرَكَاتِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ وَفَضْلِكَ وَرِزْقِكَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ النَّعِيمَ الْمُقِيمَ الَّذِي لاَ يَحُولُ وَلاَ يَزُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ النَّعِيمَ يَوْمَ الْعَيْلَةِ وَالأَمْنَ يَوْمَ الْحَرْبِ اللَّهُمَّ عَائِذًا بِكَ مِنْ سُوءِ مَا أَعْطَيْتَنَا وَشَرِّ مَا مَنَعْتَ مِنَّا
  اللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبْ إِلَيْنَا الإِيمَانَ وَزَيِّنْهُ فِي قُلُوبِنَا وَكَرِّهْ إِلَيْنَا الْكُفْرَ وَالْفُسُوقَ وَالْعِصْيَانَ وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنَ الرَّاشِدِينَ اللَّهُمَّ تَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ وَأَحْيِنَا مُسْلِمِينَ وَأَلْحِقْنَا بِالصَّالِحِينَ غَيْرَ خَزَايَا وَلاَ مَفْتُونِينَ» (الأدب المفرد ٦٩٩ صحيح)

O Allah, all praise is due to You. O Allah, none can constrict what You expand nor bring near what you put far away and none can put far away what You bring near. None can give what You withhold nor withhold what You give.
O Allah, expand to us some of Your blessings, mercy and favor and give us provision! O Allah, I ask You for the lasting bliss which is neither changed nor removed. O Allah, I ask You for blessing on the Day of Utter Poverty and security on the Day of Fear. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the evil of what You give us.
O Allah, increase our love of iman and adorn with it our hearts. Make us hate disbelief, deviance and rebellion. Place us among the rightly-guided. O Allah, make us die Muslims and make us live as Muslims and join us to the rightly, acting, who are neither disgraced nor afflicted with trials.

• «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ» (البخاري ٦٣٦٩ صحيح)

O Allah! I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from weakness and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being overpowered by men (people).

• اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ «مِنْ جَهْدِ الْبَلاَءِ، وَدَرَكِ الشَّقَاءِ، وَسُوءِ الْقَضَاءِ، وَشَمَاتَةِ الأَعْدَاءِ» (البخاري ٦٣٤٧ متفق عليه)

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of affliction, from being overtaken by misery, from an evil Decree, and from the gloating of enemies.

• «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ، وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ، وَفُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ، وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ» (مسلم ٢٧٣٩ صحيح)

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the withdrawal of Your blessings, from the change of Your protection from me, from the sudden wrath of Yours upon me, and from every displeasure of Your with me.

• «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي عَبْدُكَ، ابْنُ عَبْدِكَ، ابْنُ أَمَتِكَ، نَاصِيَتِي بِيَدِكَ، مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُكَ، عَدْلٌ فِيَّ قَضَاؤُكَ،
  أَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ، سَمَّيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ، أَوْ عَلَّمْتَهُ أَحَدًا مِنْ خَلْقِكَ، أَوْ أَنْزَلْتَهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ، أَوِ اسْتَأْثَرْتَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الْغَيْبِ عِنْدَكَ، أَنْ تَجْعَلَ الْقُرْآنَ رَبِيعَ قَلْبِي، وَنُورَ صَدْرِي، وَجِلَاءَ حُزْنِي، وَذَهَابَ هَمِّي» أحمد 3712

O Allah, I am your servant, son of your servant, son of your maidservant; my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just.
I ask You by every name belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved it in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Quran the life of my heart and the Nur of my chest, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety

• «بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ، بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ، بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ، أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَأُحَاذِرُ» (7x) (مسلم ٢٢٠٢ صحيح)

In the name of Allah (x3) I seek refuge in Allah and His Power from the evil of what I find and what I fear (7x).

• «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ كُلِّهِ عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّرِّ كُلِّهِ عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ،
  اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا سَأَلَكَ عَبْدُكَ وَنَبِيُّكَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَاذَ بِهِ عَبْدُكَ وَنَبِيُّكَ،
  اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَا قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَا قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ كُلَّ قَضَاءٍ قَضَيْتَهُ لِي خَيْرًا» (ابن ماجة ٣٨٤٦ صحيح)

O Allah, I ask You for all that is good in the here and now and in the Hereafter, of what I know and of what I do not know. And I seek refuge in You from all that is evil, in the here and now and in the Hereafter, of what I know and of what I do not know.
O Allah, I ask You for any good that Your servant and Prophet ﷺ has asked You for. And I seek refuge in You from any evil from which Your servant and Prophet ﷺ sought refuge for.
O Allah, I ask You for Jannah and for that which brings one closer to it, both in word and deed. And I seek refuge in You from Hellfire and from that which brings one closer to it, in both word and deed. And I ask You to make every decree that You decree for me ˹one that is˺ good.

• «رَبِّ أَعِنِّي وَلاَ تُعِنْ عَلَىَّ، وَانْصُرْنِي وَلاَ تَنْصُرْ عَلَىَّ، وَامْكُرْ لِي وَلاَ تَمْكُرْ عَلَىَّ، وَاهْدِنِي وَيَسِّرْ هُدَاىَ إِلَىَّ، وَانْصُرْنِي عَلَى مَنْ بَغَى عَلَىَّ،
  اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي لَكَ شَاكِرًا، لَكَ ذَاكِرًا، لَكَ رَاهِبًا، لَكَ مِطْوَاعًا، إِلَيْكَ مُخْبِتًا (وَ)مُنِيبًا
  رَبِّ تَقَبَّلْ تَوْبَتِي، وَاغْسِلْ حَوْبَتِي، وَأَجِبْ دَعْوَتِي، وَثَبِّتْ حُجَّتِي، وَاهْدِ قَلْبِي، وَسَدِّدْ لِسَانِي، وَاسْلُلْ سَخِيمَةَ قَلْبِي» (أبو داود ١٥١٠ صحيح)

My Lord, help me and do not give help against me; grant me victory, and do not grant victory over me; plan on my behalf and do not plan against me; guide me, and made my right guidance easy for me; grant me victory over those who act wrongfully towards me;
O Allah, make me grateful to You, mindful of You, full of fear towards Your, devoted to Your obedience, broken before You, and repentful before You.
My Lord, accept my repentance, wash away my sin, answer my supplication, clearly establish my evidence, guide my heart, make true my tongue and draw out malice from my chest.

• «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَاىَ، وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي،
  اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي، اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَىَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي، وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي، وَأَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي» (أبو داود ٥٠٧٤ صحيح)

O Allah, I ask You for afiyah (removal of harm) in this world and in the Hereafter: O Allah, I ask You to erase my sins and afiyah in my religion, in my worldly affairs, and in my family and my property.
O Allah! conceal my faults, and keep me safe from the things which I fear. O Allah! guard me in front of me and behind me, on my right hand and on my left, and from above me. and I seek, in Your Greatness, from receiving unexpected harm from underneath me.

• «اللهُمَّ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ، تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَاءُ، وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِيَدِكِ الْخَيْرُ، إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ،
  تُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وتُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ، وَتُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ، وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ،
  رَحْمَانَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَرَحِيمَهُمَا، تُعْطِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ مِنْهُمَا وتَمْنَعُ مَنْ تَشَاءُ، ارْحَمْنِي رَحْمَةً تُغْنِيني بِهَا عَنْ رَحْمَةِ مَنْ سِوَاكَ» (الطبراني ١٧٥٢١)

O Allah, Owner of all Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is all good. Truly, You have power over all things.
You merge the night into the day, and You merge the day into the night. You bring forth the living from the dead, and You bring forth the dead from the living. And You provide for whom You will without measure.
O Most Merciful of this world and the Hereafter, and the Compassionate in them both, You give to whomever You will of them and You withhold from whomever You will. Have mercy on me with a mercy that will make me free of need from the mercy of anyone besides You.

• «اللهُمَّ إِلَيْكَ أَشْكُو ضَعْفَ قُوَّتِي، وَقِلَّةَ حِيلَتِي، وَهَوَانِي عَلَى النَّاسِ، أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ أَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ! إِلَى مَنْ تَكِلُنِي؟ إِلَى عَدُوٍّ يَتَجَهَّمُنِي؟ أَمْ إِلَى قَرِيبٍ مَلَّكْتَهُ أَمْرِي؟ إِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ غَضْبَانًا عَلَيَّ فَلَا أُبَالِي، إِنَّ عَافِيَتَكَ أَوْسَعُ لِي،
  أَعُوذُ بِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ الَّذِي أَشْرَقَتْ لَهُ الظُّلُمَاتُ وَصَلَحَ عَلَيْهِ أَمَرُ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ، أَنْ تُنْزِلَ بِي غَضَبَكَ أَوْ تُحِلَّ عَلَيَّ سَخَطَكَ،
  لَكَ الْعُتْبَى حَتَّى تَرْضَى لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِكَ» (الطبراني ١٣٨٣٥)

O Allah, to You I complain of my weakness, my lack of means, and my insignificance before people. O Most Merciful of the merciful, You are the Most Merciful of the merciful! To whom do You entrust me? To an enemy who oppresses me? Or to a close one whom You have given power over me? If You are not angry with me, then I do not care, however, Your protection is more relieving for me.
I seek refuge in the light of Your Essence –by which the darkness is illuminated and by which the affairs of this world and the Hereafter are set aright– from Your anger descending upon me or Your displeasure befalling me.
To You belongs all praise until You are pleased. There is no power and no strength except through You.

• ﷽ ﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ۝ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ۝ وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ۝ وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ ۝ وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ الفَلَق ١١٣:١)

113:1 Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak 2 From the evil of that which He created 3 And from the evil of darkness when it settles 4 And from the evil of the blowers in knots 5 And from the evil of an envier when he envies.

• ﷽ ﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ۝ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ۝ إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ ۝ مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ۝ الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ۝ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ النَّاس ١١٤:١)

114:1 Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, 2 The Sovereign of mankind. 3 The God of mankind, 4 From the evil of the retreating whisperer - 5 Who whispers ˹evil˺ into the breasts of mankind - 6 From among the jinn and mankind.

• ﴿رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ البَقَرَة ٢:٢٠١)

2:201 … Our Lord, give us in this world ˹that which is˺ good and in the Hereafter ˹that which is˺ good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

• ﴿رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ البَقَرَة ٢:١٢٧)

2:127 … Our Lord, accept ˹this˺ from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing.

• ﴿وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ ۝﴾ (سُورَةُ البَقَرَة ٢:١٢٨)

2:128 … and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Most Merciful.

• «اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ» (البخاري ٣٣٧٠ متفق عليه)

O Allah، Send Your Mercy on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your Mercy on Ibrahim and on the family of Ibrahim, for You are the Most Praise-worthy and Most Majestic. O Allah, Send Your Blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent your Blessings on Ibrahim and on the family of Ibrahim, for You are the Most Praise-worthy and Most Majestic.
